What a day! And it’s only 11:24am.
I knew this day was going to be interesting when I woke up around 4am and just couldn’t go back to sleep. Since it’s only about an hour and a half before my normal wake up time “should” be, I figured I might as well stay awake.
One of the first things I do when I wake up and several other times throughout the day is to check the LillyBits FB Group and webpage. (Heather is the breeder and LillyBits is the name of her company where I’m getting Sofi from. Heather is amazing, and I really can’t think of a more nurturing person. I would highly recommend LillyBits!!). It’s like I’m obsessed or something. I want to make sure I don’t miss a thing when it comes to those puppies, especially since “selection” is starting soon.
Lillybits’ selection is actually a really fair process. Each client is given a spot/pick in a certain numerical order, depending on when they contacted Heather inquiring about a puppy. I was given pick #4 out of 6 from the litter. Which means that there will be 3 puppies to choose from when it’s my turn. But since I want a girl, that could mean I only have 1 choice left because there were 4 girls born in the litter I get to choose from.
Anyway, this morning I looked on the FB Group as well as on the website and saw that two of the puppies had already been selected. OMG!!! (My original favorite, Winnie, was already headed home to be with two little girls who can’t wait for her arrival). Then I saw that on YouTube, Heather had submitted a selection video, giving clear views of all of the puppies:
Watch that video and tell me that it doesn’t just brighten your day! It actually made my heart melt. They’re all so cute!! Winnie and Whimsy are both selected already, so that leaves Honey and Boo. And both of those puppies are just so cute, so there’s really no bad choice.
I was so excited that I sent an email to many of my friends and family and then posted something on FB, too. I was thrilled that today was the day…until Heather contacted me and told me that there’s a bit of a snafu with the people in the #3 spot. They’re locals (LillyBits is located outside of Seattle) and wanted to come to see the puppies before they made their selection. The only problem is that they’re away on vacation and won’t be home until Sunday. Sunday!! Heather is going to try to make the process go a bit more quickly than that, but who knows.
Which means I should just calm down and know that I’m going to get a great puppy, no matter what. But I have this sense of excitement coupled with nervousness and anxiousness because there’s still that unknown factor. I just want to KNOW which little love bug is going to be mine, you know?
Feel free to send calming vibes my way today, because I can use them.

Outfit of the Day
I’m not sure if this is going to happen everyday because I only have so many cute clothes, but for now it’s been fun to show off my outfits. Plus I figure these photos will be good “before/during” photos once I reach my goal weight. I snapped this photo before I finished my hair and put my makeup on, so just focus on the dress, LOL. This morning I decided to wear my Easter dress to school:
I love the colors – wearing this dress just puts me in a good mood. I got the dress, shoes, and the shrug on Avenue, if you’ll recall, and it was really inexpensive.
Other than all this puppy madness, the day is going really well. I’m already down on the scale and the weather outside is great. Wearing a cute dress puts me in a great mood, as do the thoughts of puppies, which are swimming in my head.

Water
Lastly, I have a question for you about water. How much do you drink? I know there are several different theories. Some say stick to 64oz. Others say that might be too much (although I don’t think so). Still others say to drink half your body weight in water, which for me would mean 144oz, or a little over 4 -32oz jugs. What’s your opinion? I guess it can’t hurt to try to increase the water consumption, right? I may try it this week to see if it aids in weight loss. I’d love to hear what you guys think about this.

I want them to let you bypass the process and immediately pick your puppy, but I guess I am biased. No matter what youre going to get a cutie!
I drink somewhere between 4-5 of my 32oz bottles a day. I’m a natural water drinker though, and always have been. I have a co-worker that is trying to make herself drink 4-20oz ones a day (up from drinking maybe 1 a day.) I think my body is just used to it. I can totally tell when I dont get enough water in, I’m crabbier and even my skin feels drier!
You’re an expectant mother. Aww, I’ve even picked my fav puppy, the one with the brown face, but I will take them all!
I’m exceptionally thirsty. I easily drink about 150 oz per day in the winter, and usually over 300 per day in the summer — but that’s completely abnormal (and was absolutely baffling to my doc who made me do all kinds of tests to check things). But I live somewhere very warm and I’m pretty active. But I also don’t like drinking much besides water, so that’s really my only fluid intake many days. Bodies are 70% water, right? So I’d think it’s probably better for you to err by going higher, rather than lower, but might be a good question for your doc.
I’ll definitely ask her the next time I have an appt. I’ve been drinking at least 96oz a day since Thursday and I’m feeling great. More bathroom breaks, but I should be able to increase the water without too much of an issue. Looking forward to summer when bathroom breaks during the day are a non-issue.
Healthy kidneys are able to excrete approximately 1 litre of water (33.8 ounces) per hour, and more water is lost through sweat (don’t have that statistic, sorry). Drinking water at a faster rate could put you at risk of water intoxication, which can lead to coma or death. However, you could drink up to 544 oz in a 16 hour day as long as you pace yourself across those hours. That is extremely difficult to achieve (4.26 gallons!) so effectively there is no upper limit to water consumption. I’d say stick to whatever amount makes you feel best.
