Today was infinitely better than yesterday – the kind of on-program day that assures weight loss if enough of them are strung together. This week I’m striving to string 7 days like today together.
Now it’s time for Friend Makin’ Monday (FMM).
If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!
FMM: Travel
1. Where did your most recent trip take you? I went to San Francisco in December. That barely counts, since it was a day trip and SF is only an hour away.
2. Is there a place that you’d like to visit that you haven’t yet? If so, where? I have a long list of “bucket list” places that I’d like to go – Europe (England, France, Portugal,Ireland), Cuba, The Bahamas, Australia, New Zealand, and many places in the U.S. (NYC, D.C., New Orleans, to name just a few).
3. Do you travel lightly, or do you cram as much into your luggage as possible? I pack a lot – way too much. Although I do like Kim‘s idea of making sure to hit up a laundromat while traveling to meet some locals or other tourists while doing that chore.
4. Do your eating and exercise habits change when you travel? If so, how? I usually allow myself to indulge in some of the local flavors, but I do make sure to get in lots of walking and/or other formal exercise.
5. Tell us about a place you’ve been that you’d like to go back to. Italy! I loved the month I spent there, and since it’s been 17 year since I’ve been there.
6. Do you prefer to travel at a certain time of year? Since I get summers off, that makes the most sense for traveling. Once I retire, I think spring and fall would be the preferable times to go because the weather (in most places) would be more moderate.
7. If you had to choose, would you go to the beach or the mountains? Beach, absolutely! I love the ocean would choose it hands down every time. In fact, I’m going to go to Half Moon Bay this week, since the weather is supposed to warm up later in the week.
8. Have you ever needed a passport to travel? Yes, when I went to Italy, Jamaica, Canada, and Mexico.
9. Do you collect anything in your travels? I love bringing home some sort of memento, but nothing specific.
10. Where do you plan to go next? I’ll be going to Vegas in August with ScaleWare (our first face-to-face meeting), and I’ll go to the beach (Santa Cruz, Monterey/Carmel, Half Moon Bay) and Napa over the summer, I’m sure.
One thing I’m really looking forward to is the ease of traveling when I weigh much less than I do now.
Now it’s your turn to answer the questions! And also be sure to go back to Kenlie’s blog and leave a link to your FMM post in the comments! I really encourage you to comment on as many people’s posts as you can – I’ve met some fantastic people through FMM. You never know who you’ll meet today.

You’re lucky to be so close to so many places that lots of Americans put on their “domestic bucket list.” I’ve also got Portugal and Ireland on my someday list.
But more than anything, happy to hear you had a good day yesterday.
You’re right, I think one of the reasons (besides the fact that I can’t afford it) that I haven’t traveled more lately IS because I live so close to such great places.
And thanks for your comments yesterday, they absolutely helped me.
