I have been looking forward to today’s weigh-in all week! I’ve been weighing daily and the pounds have been melting off, but I hoped to reach a milestone on the scale today.
(Oh, and her? She’s Weigh-In Wednesday Bellina, one of four new images that I had custom-made for me that I’ve been dying to show off. More details about Bellina and who made her a bit later in a different post. This one is all about my first weigh-in).
Which means that this week, week 1 on Medifast, I lost 10.2 pounds!! Which is the most I’ve lost on any weight loss program, ever. Even when I was on that fasting program that I drove to SF for, I “only” lost 9.4 the first week. Even when I did Medifast the first time, I “only” lost 8.6 the first week. This is truly astounding to me. (I’m going to try to take a better scale shot next week, this one was really difficult today, for some odd reason).
Those numbers are Biggest Loser numbers. They mean that my mind is set, my attitude is positive, and my actions are proving that I am doing everything I need to in order to make this program successful. So, 10 pounds down, 35 to go to reach the weight loss goal set forth for me by the surgeon.
According to my very unmathematical calculations, I *should* reach my goal sometime at the end of March/beginning of April, and then I just have to wait anywhere from 1-6 weeks for my surgery date to be chosen. At that point they say that you have to be ready, because they might have a last minute spot to fill. Exciting!
I bet your extra activity helped you get the bigger loss. I was reading during the other 2 weeks you referenced, but I don’t remember you being as active at the time (though maybe you were and I just forgot). Stick with the activity and trips to the gym — that’ll keep your numbers moving and keep you in the post-surgery habit you’re setting in place. Love the great results and glad you’re happy. Also love the name Bellina!
I LOVE your little cartoon girl! She is so cute!! Congrats on the 10 pounds! Makes me want to look into that medifast stuff.
HOLY $HIT! Those are Biggest Loser sorts of numbers for sure! You’ve had an amazing week, cant wait to see what next week brings 🙂
The Bella-toon is so freakin’ fabulous!
I’m so impressed. At last you seem to have found a way through. You seem so much happier and settled since your sister came to live next door.
My guess is you come from a generous, close knit, family and you have been lonely. Between Lulu and your sister and her children you’ve solved the problem.
I’m really glad medifast is working for you.
Margie, you are so right about that. I was feeling really lonely and sort of depressed all of last year because of where I was living and the fact that I felt like I had nothing to look forward to at home. I am just so much lighter and brighter now. It’s awesome!
Holy smokes, Batgirl – that’s awesome! Keep up the good work and determination!
Excellent week! What an amazing result. All the best for next week. Betty xxx
