2012 is flying by and I realized that I haven’t done one goals update yet. No time like the present, right?
Many of my 2012 goals are long term, like qualifying for wls, losing 50 lbs, starting c25k, and participating in a 5k. But how about the others?
#3. I will make time for working out 5-6 days a week, even when I’m stressed out and exhausted. I’m happy to report that I’m doing really well on this goal. I take Sofi for a walk almost every single day, and then I do some other form of exercise at least 5 days a week, too. My goal is to get at least 60 minutes of exercise in a day, and many times I get more than that.
#5. I will stop trying to control everything. This one is a definite work in progress, and changes almost daily. Some days I do really well and others I slip back into my controlling ways. But at least I’m more conscious of it now and I am being mindful and trying to make the change.
#6. I will read more books in 2012. I’m doing great on this one. I’ve already read 4 books toward my goal of 30 in 2012. I have made a huge change in the fact that I read every night before bed and at least another hour a day on Saturday and Sunday.
#7. I will learn to crochet. I was going like gangbusters on this at the beginning of January, but then it sort of fell off my radar. I’m going to commit to at least 2 hours of crocheting this weekend to get myself back on track.
#11. I will start a savings account in earnest. I am doing well on this, although I’m only putting in a really small amount, but hey, it all adds up and anything is more than I was putting in before.
#12. I will continue to be more social. I think I’m doing fairly well on this. I’ve seen many of my friends in the last month and a half. I also joined LosingItWithRebecca’s challenge on YouTube, which is sure to make some new online friends. And more recently, I discovered that someone at work has embraced a new fitness lifestyle, so he and I are now FB friends. Actually, one of our other colleagues has offered to become a sort of personal trainer of sorts for me, which is really exciting. More on that in the coming weeks as we set something up.
Overall, I’m really pleased with my progress. And as I continue to do well with some of these goals, those longer term goal will also fall into place. And this wasn’t a set goal, but I’m also proud of the fact that I have logged into MyFitnessPal for 55 days in a row, which means that I’ve logged every bite, sip, and drop of sweat since before 2012 began. Nice!
