It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another WIAW. What I Ate Wednesday is a fun weekly post/blog social event started over at Peas and Crayons. If you want to follow my eats everyday, become my friend on MyFitnessPal.
This week I had a chance to snap lots of photos of my meals, and I changed some of them up quite a bit, so hopefully this post will offer some great meal ideas. The only thing I didn’t take photos of of Sunday’s Father’s Day BBQ that I hosted at my house – I wish I had, too, because we had some great food!
I thought this was a cool way to show the evolution of my berry green smoothies that I had for breakfast most of the week.
Wheat toast with a bit of butter, berry green smoothie, & coffee!
I ran out of spinach, so my smoothie only had 1 cup of milk, 1 scoop of protein powder, and frozen mangoes – look how thick it was!! Like frozen yogurt.
Salad of garbanzo beans, black beans, tomatoes, purple onion, crumbled goat cheese + cherries.
Salad with rotisserie chicken, beets, goat cheese, sliced almonds, and mache. Nectarine on the side.
This was lunch a few times this week: 1 slice fontina cheese, mini bag of Orville Redenbacher’s natural salt & pepper popcorn (awesome!!), Chobani yogurt, and a peach.
Soft taco – TJ’s salmon burger, green onions, 2 kinds of salsa, shredded cabbage, lowfat Noah’s shmear (cream cheese) – I thought the cream cheese would compliment the salmon well. It was delicious!
My sister made me this side dish – kale with soy sauce, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and a tiny bit of sesame oil. Awesome side dish/salad.
Quinoa with green onions, a touch of butter, and a tsp romano cheese w/ TJ’s turkey meatballs and a salad of mache, cucumbers, tomatoes, & crumbled blue cheese w/ olive oil & red wine vinegar.
Quinoa with green onions, a touch of butter, and a tsp romano cheese w/ boneless pork chop marinated in Chakka’s MMM sauce and a salad of mache, cucumbers, & crumbled goat cheese w/ olive oil & red wine vinegar.
I highly recommend joining in on the WIAW posts! Not only do you get a TON of great ideas for healthy, interesting meals, but you can make some new blogging buddies, too.
What was the best thing you’ve eaten today? This week?
