Autumn has arrived! Which means that life is back to normal – school’s in, my schedule is busy, and obligations abound. But I won’t use those as excuses to slack on my goals. The great thing about fall is that the weather is cooler, which means that those wonderful fall fashions will keep me motivated. Plus, crisp temperatures mean that it’s never “too hot” to workout. I’m going to relish my nightly cup of steaming hot tea as another way to keep my water intake up. I look forward to all those hearty, satisfying and wls-friendly soups, stews, and crockpot meals that I’ll create for myself. This year, the changing season will mark new milestones that I haven’t seen in 5, 7, 10+ years! Bring on fall 2013 – it’s time to reach new heights! Sunday weigh-ins will keep me accountable through the weekend, and will give me a positive goal to begin each new week. Throughout the fall, I’ll be giving Sunday progress updates called Fabulous Fall Weigh-Ins.
Week 15 was jammed packed with activities, including Back to School Night. The week was tiring and busy, and didn’t leave me with much energy when I got home from work.
I weighed in this morning at 231.0, which is a loss of 2 pounds this week, and a loss of 46 lbs since surgery!!! I’ve lost a total of 84 pounds from my highest weight. I’m actually really happy with this loss this week, because I didn’t do too much to deserve it. I didn’t really workout, I was very “snacky” many days, and I didn’t remember to take my vitamins most days. But I kept my calories around the 850 mark and did my best to get in lots of protein, so it goes to show that food alone can carry me once in a while.
Not that I want to make a habit of not getting my workouts in. In fact, yesterday I burned tons of cals with a marathon house-cleaning session and this morning I got on the bike first thing in the morning. Now that we’re getting into week 4 of school, I think it’s time to start planning more workouts more closely:
Sunday: recumbent bike, walk Sofi
Monday: walk Sofi; Zumba DVD
Tuesday: rest day
Wednesday: walk Sofi; elliptical/recumbent bike
Thursday: Body Pump
Friday: rest day
Saturday: Color Me Rad 5K
Sunday: Lululemon #yogaontherow
I’m really excited about both of those fitness events coming up next weekend, and I’ll be sure to blog about them after I’ve participated.
Which brings me to the September 30-Day Plank Challenge. It has definitely been a CHALLENGE. These planks are no joke, and are really difficult. Now that the time is up around 45 seconds, I’ve been holding side, bent knee planks, which some might consider cheating, but I’m okay with it because I still feel them in my core every time I do them.
The other big thing that I want to tackle this week is getting all my vitamins in. I’ve still been bad about taking them – some days I’m on it and taking everything, other days I only get half or none in. This hit and miss thing is no way to make sure that I get all of my nutrients in. I don’t want to go to my 6-month post op appt and find that I’m deficient in something. The problem is that most of the vitamins require me to wait 2 hours in between taking them, which means that I may remember to take my mulitvitamin but then forget my calcium two hours later. I know how important these vitamins are, and I just have to set up reminders so that I take them at the right time and don’t forget anything.
I love the quote I found this week because it’s what I’m doing each and every day that passes. I love being active, moving my body, and living this healthy life I’m creating.
Until next Sunday, my friends. I hope the scale treats you well, and that you have a wonderful week!
