Throughout the month of December, I’ll be participating in #reverb13: Reverb is a way to reflect on the past year and project into the next year with a prompt a day for 31 days. December is the perfect time to reflect on 2013 and start to create intentions for 2014.
Day 19: Personality
Personality | Were you an extrovert or an introvert this year? Why? Is that normal for you? Or a switch from previous years?
Anyone who knows me knows I’m an extrovert through and through. I’m bold, I’m loud, I’m opinionated, I’m blunt. I’m me, no matter who’s around. I speak my mind. I live life in full color.
With all of that said, I do think I was more introverted in 2013 in terms of my social life. I did see my friends and family often, but it was mostly doing quieter things – coffee and conversation, going on a walk, having a girls’ night in watching movies. A lot of that had to do with the fact that I was working hard from January – May to meet my pre-op weight loss requirement, and I didn’t want to risk anything my going out to eat too often. The other part of it was the fact that I was getting used to my post-surgery life and figuring out what I could eat while going out. And who knows, maybe this quieter life is what happens now that I’ve hit 40+.
But let’s be clear, even though I didn’t go out as often in 2013, I am still a very extroverted person who is comfortable talking to anyone in any situation. I plan to continue living that way, in 2014. Although I do want to be out and about more often in the new year.
