Happy Monday, Everyone! For the first time in three weeks, I’m actually at work on a Monday. Go figure! But since I had to be at school until 9:30pm on Friday night to chaperone a play, only to turn around and be back at 7:15am on Saturday to proctor the SAT, I think taking the last couple of Mondays off was justified. Plus, October is a l-o-n-g month with no holidays, so most teachers take a few days here and there to break it up a bit.

FMM: Winning the Lottery

What’s the first thing you would do for yourself if you won 100 million dollars? Note: this question is specifically for you…what would you do for fun after the family and the bills and the obvious stuff was taken care of?

OMG! Kenlie, I am so glad that you posted this fun topic. With budget cuts in an already meager teacher’s salary, I feel like I never have enough money. Just last week, our local ABC station was running a contest to win $49,000 (tied to the Thursday Night Football game the 49ers played). Unfortunately, I didn’t win. But here’s a chance to dream a little bit.

In no particular order….

I’d buy a house for myself. In fact, I might even buy the duplex that my sister and I live in. I don’t need some McMansion, and I abhor moving, so I’d be very comfortable living here for the foreeseable future. It would be nice, though, not to have to worry about rent/mortgage payments.

After paying off my VW Convertible Beetle, I’d buy a few more cars.

First, I’d get a Lexus RX so that I could use it for trips skiing (which I’ve never done, but would love to try) and to cart my bike here and there on the weekends. I like this rich bronze color because it’s so unusual.

I’d also want to buy a 1964 Dodge Dart. My mom had one when I was little, and I loved that car. Plus, it would be such a cool car to drive around in once in a while. (When weather wasn’t a factor).

Moving past cars, I’d purchase tons of clothes from Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, etc. A few items I’d pick up…

Of course I’d buy all sorts of beautiful, ridiculous shoes.

Who am I really kidding? More like this:

I’d also like to buy some signature jewelry from Cartier or Tiffany.

And I’d travel…

It would be so fun to be able to buy anything I want, anytime I want. To go wherever my heart desired, by whatever means I felt like. The security of not worrying about money and being able to enjoy my family and friends until the end of my days. Ahhhhhh….it’s fun to dream, isn’t it?

What would you spend your money on???

Now it’s your turn to share. Don’t forget to go back to Kenlie’s blog to link up in the comments!
