Is it Tuesday already? Wow, the time is flying by now that summer vacation is coming to a close. This is my last true week off, although I don’t have to be at work until Aug. 24th, but next week I do have to go in for 2 days to assist with registration. I’m definitely trying to make the most of these last few days of summer.
As many of you know, I bought a new VW Beetle Convertible on Friday! I’ve wanted this car for so long, and I feel so lucky and grateful to be in the position to purchase my “dream car.” On Saturday, I took a glorious drive to Half Moon Bay and soaked up the sun.
This week is getting a bit hectic, but in a way it’s good because it will get me used to the busyness that will come when school starts up again.
Here’s a quick snapshot:
Monday – 10am training session with Jimmy, followed by 20 minutes of cardio. Laundry and cleaning up at home. Then I went with Ish to her gym and took an Aqua Aerobics class – very basic, but very fun. My muscles are feeling the double workout this morning, let me tell you.
Yesterday at they gym I bought the “watch” display that goes along with the BodyBugg. The cool thing about it is that it tells you how many calories you’ve burned, as well as how many steps you’ve taken. (Plus it tells the time. LOL). I like having the display available in current time, rather than having to wait until I upload the info into the computer at night. Because at 9pm, there’s not much I can do if I’m behind on my calorie burn, you know? This way, I can do something during the day to make sure I see a calorie deficit of at least 1000 each day.
Tuesday – Today is crazy. Right now I’m doing more laundry (for one person, my laundry NEVER ends), then I’m going for a much-needed mani-pedi. Seriously, you guys, my feet are so cracked and calloused, it’s terrible. I have not been taking care of them at all. Today’s appt. should fix them right up, though. After the pampering, I have to head to my classroom for a journalism workday. We should be there for about 2-3 hours, but hopefully I can get some other work done at the same time. After that, I’d love to go on a bike ride, as long as the weather isn’t too hot. Then I’ll make something delicious for dinner.
Wednesday – Training with Jimmy at 10am, and then the rest of the day is free. I’ll do cardio after the training, but after that, I’m hoping to take Neece for a ride in the car and maybe go to The Container Store to buy some desk organizers for my teacher’s desk at school. This year I’m vowing to keep my desk neat and tidy, a task that has not gone well in the past.
Thursday – Another whirlwind day. First my WW meeting, where I hope I see some good news. I have been taking the advice of some of the very knowledgeable people who read my blog and I have been eating more of my WPAs. I haven’t made it to the APs yet, but we’ll see. I’m scared to eat too many extra points, but maybe a high day would be exactly what my body needs to jump start it.
Then, I have to take the car in to have a lo jack-type system installed, then lunch with a former student, then a Zumba class in the evening. I’m really looking forward to trying Zumba, because everyone I talk to loves it. One of my former students first told me about Zumba over 2 years ago, so she was on the cusp of the phenomenon, I guess. She loved it so much that she wanted to get certified to teach it, and was hoping to hold classes on campus at her college.
Friday – Another appt. with Jimmy, although he said it’s going to be “all cardio, baby.” That scares me a little bit, but I know I’ll finish the session feeling very accomplished (and very tired, I’m sure). Not sure what I’m doing with the rest of the day, but I’ll try to sneak in some fun, somewhere.
(Next week I take measurements, and I am really excited to see how many inches I’ve lost. Jimmy keeps telling me he can see my progress in the way I’m completing the moves, which really makes me feel like all this hard work is paying off. Seeing some significant losses in inches will really help me feel better about not seeing much movement on the scale).
Somewhere in there this week I need to go through the cookbooks (still haven’t done it) and do some serious shopping. I’d also like to buy some new workout clothes (any ideas?).
Oh, and on a side note, I joined eHarmony yesterday. I really would like to meet a nice guy, and so many people recommend that site, so I’m giving it another go. (I’ve joined eHarmony twice in the past, but never for more than a month, and I didn’t meet anyone worth noting either time). This time I joined for 6 months, which seems like a reasonable amount of time to meet someone I’d like to spend more time with. I’ll be posting about my experience with that on the Bella Blog, so look for those posts.
Happy Tuesday, everyone!
wow..ok i thought *i* was busy!! whew!

enjoy the pedi and can’t wait to read about the dating! (i met my hubby online..its been 10 years together, 3 married this week!)

Oh, this gives me so much hope!!!! So far I haven’t been impressed with the “matches” they’ve found for me, but it’s only been one day. I need to give it time. Gotta kiss a few frogs to find the prince, right? LOL.
At least the busyness of this week is somewhat fun. When school starts, it goes to a whole nother level of busy. But that’s what makes me cherish this summer off so much.
Hope you’re doing well. Gotta catch up on the blog later tonight.
i know MANY people who have met their soulmates on line.. I’ve heard good things about eharmony too. I look forward to hearing updates!
